Student Executive: Your Campus
At the campus level, you have an executive team comprised of the following positions:
President – acts as the leader and guide for both the executive council and the student body. This is done by developing annual goals for the council as well as liaising with NBCC Staff and the Student Life Officer
Secretary – is responsible for keeping the minutes and agenda items organized. They also work with the President and Student Life Officer to keep the Student Union Office organized.
Treasurer – helps to keep an accurate record of receipts and reimbursements as well as assists in overseeing the development of the LCU Annual Budget.
VP – Advocacy – acts as a representative for under-represented demographics within the college. This individual works with the VP of Events, SLO, NBCC Staff and other Executive Members to create culturally driven events
VP – Events – is responsible for helping create, plan and implement the Calendar of Events..
VP – Communication – creates communications that are distributed via social media, email and other formats.
VP – Athletics – works to coordinate sporting extra murals both on and off campus
This group of Student Leaders help set the pace for everything happening with the SU on campus. We have nominations in mid-September for all open positions, as well as in the Spring for any students continuing in the upcoming year.
Student Executive: Provincial
The Provincial Student Union is made up of two members from each campus Executive. This would typically include the President and one other member. These students will elect a Provincial Executive Team which includes a Provincial President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Each year, these students will meet to discuss and work on issues affecting all students. At the Provincial Level, students would work on bigger projects, such as our Health and Dental.
**You do need to already be a Campus Executive before you’re able to be apart of the Provincial Student Union
Student Reps:
Each regular program at NBCC should have a class representative to act as the voice of their classroom, by bringing forward concerns and ideas. We meet 1-2 times per month as a group to share information on events, activities and contests happening around campus. This also provides an opportunity to share experiences as a group.
