NBCCSU meetings should have a clear agenda and meeting notes must be recorded and saved. Meeting notes should be written by the Secretary, saved in a shared folder for the Executive to review and then sent out to all class reps. Meeting notes must be approved at the beginning of the next meeting.
Event Planning Templates & Tools
NBCCSU Events and Clubs are open to all NBCC Students and the safety and wellbeing of these students is as important as making sure a good time is had by all. With the guidance of your Student Life Officers the NBCCSU Student Leaders pre plan for each event to ensure safety, inclusion and accessibility for all involved. As Bounce / Event admins the following documents should be used during your planning.
Event Waivers
Event waivers are necessary for ensuring that everyone involved in an upcoming activity or event—from staff to supporters—walks away with a safe and positive experience. This legal document transfers the risk of participating from the host to each attendee. By signing the event liability waiver, the attendee acknowledges they understand the risks and are waiving their right to sue if injured or experience damage through their participation. When creating events with Bounce we must include the proper waivers so students can read and accept them right on the bounce app.
Financial Templates
Each Local NBCCSU’s Treasurer, President and SLO will create their own budget based on their campus’s enrollment numbers. This budget is reviewed with the rest of the Executive and they will vote on accepting it for the academic year. This Excel template will help you determine your budget with an easy to use structure.
NBCCSU Elections
Each Local NBCCSU holds Elections in the fall and spring of the academic year. Our Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers nominations for the next academic year open in the spring of each academic year. This gives incoming top Executives a chance to work with the current student leaders in those positions for a smooth transition. In September of each academic year we elect our VPs at each campus. This gives students in their first year a chance to run in our elections and for the NBCCSU to have a good mix of students at various stages of their education at NBCC.
